Green practices and a hands-on approach rule the roost at Redtail Vineyard

 

When Pauline Joicey and Gilbert Provost first found the acreage they would eventually build their dream vineyard and winery on, it was raw land.

In fact, much about Redtail Vineyard is raw – from the winemaker’s style to their unique off-grid facility. This is a place where, if Pauline and Gilbert are busy up in their house, you can ring the ship’s bell out front of the tasting room to get service. This is a place where Hydro One looks for a non-existent meter and the solar-powered lights are guiltlessly turned on for an Earth Hour party. This is a place where even the labeller is run by hand, and everyone gets dirt under their nails.
